National Security and American Jobs – Hawker Beechcraft victim in latest in Obama Hypocrisy

I recently came across the latest in Obama Administration hypocrisies. You see on one hand, the daily presser encourages us to believe that the Administration does all it can to jump start job growth in an economy they simply inherited. On the other hand, those paying attention know that from oil production to government contracts… Obama’s record simply tells another story. The latest is in a US Air Force contract which may certainly go to Brazil. The story here:

There are least three reasons why awarding the contract domestically is a no-brainer.

1. National Security. When we ship our jobs overseas we then become dependent upon them to fulfill the contract and to our specifications. Obviously, diplomatic problems, such as the one we are currently facing with Brazil over the Libyan conflict, can all translate into problems. Why… given the overwhelming fact that we *are capable of manufacturing this airplane*… would we risk having a foreign government partner in our military contracts?

2. 1800 US jobs at a facility which has long been capable of manufacturing machines of this caliber opposed to Brazilian Embraer which has a 50-man assembly joint in Southern Florida with the lion’s share of jobs on their own soil.

3. The Hawker Beechcraft airplanes allow for more diverse pilots. As The Hill pointed out, the American-made plane allows for more women pilots. Last time I checked, Obama claimed to care about diversity.

So I ask you President Obama… do you care about national security, affording more Americans work and getting a finer product that accommodates our fighting forces? Or do you care about placating a non-ally in the southern hemisphere?
